“Ideological taste”: opposition deputies question Gabriel Boric’s tweet after the Military Parade | National

During this Monday, deputies from different benches questioned the statements of the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, after referring to the Military Parade as an “act of subordination.” “It’s not good to ‘give yourself a little taste’ again that threatens unity, it doesn’t help, it doesn’t add up, and it’s obviously a mistake,” said Paulina Núñez.

Opposition deputies questioned the controversial statements of the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, after referring to the Military Parade as a “act of subordination” to civil society.

After a weekend marked by national holiday celebrations, within the framework of a new anniversary of our country’s independence, the traditional Military Parade was carried out, starring the Armed Forces (FF.AA).

In this context, President Gabriel Boric referred to this act through a post on Twitterwhich stated that he felt “very proud to be able to represent Chilean men and women in this significant act of subordination of military power to civil society (…)”.

Faced with this situation, parliamentarians from different parties described it as “absolutely reckless” the statements of the President, accusing him of giving himself a “personal taste” against the Armed Forces.

“Try to install a division between the Armed Forces and the country”

This was stated by a group of UDI deputies, who led by Juan Manuel Fuenzalida, Juan Antonio Coloma, Sergio Bobadilla and Marta Bravo, sent a letter of thanks and support to the commander in chief of the Chilean ArmyGeneral Javier Iturriaga, expressing his support after the statement issued by the President.

“Beyond the The evident rejection that exists on the part of President Boric of the commendable work that our Armed Forces carry out on a daily basis (…) it seems to us that his statements demonstrate his absolute imprudence and lack of moderation at the time he was in, revealing his animosity towards institutions such as the Chilean Army”, the letter mentioned.

Likewise, also they assured that the executive was “trying to install, again, a division between the Armed Forces and the Chileans and Chileanswhich fortunately did not have the response I expected.

The same annoyance was shown by deputies Paulina Núñez (RN), Kenneth Pugh (IND-RN) and Jorge Guzmán (Evopoli), who also shared tweets on the Twitter social network referring to the matter.

“Ideological taste that insults the country”

On the one hand, Núñez made a publication indicating that “it is necessary that prudence, respect, moderation and non-provocation start from the President of the Republic, it’s not good to ‘give yourself a little taste’ again, which threatens unity, it doesn’t help, it doesn’t add up, and it’s obviously a mistake, one more”.

Kenneth Pugh, for his part, pointed out that “President Ramón Barros Luco established the 19 S holiday as the day of “The Glories of the Army.” The great Military Parade is precisely in homage to these glories and not a “act of subordination” as the President erroneously points out. Another ideological taste that reviles the country“.

Finally, deputy Jorge Guzmán questioned the actions of the executive, assuring that “although the ideology does not allow it to be seen, President Gabriel Boric, the 2022 Military Parade is not an act of subordination to you and your government. Today we honor the Armed Forces. Spot. enough of childishness“.
