The new season of ‘The Masked Singer’ has started and the first five characters have made their appearance. Despite all the spectacular performances, we already had to say goodbye to two characters in the first episode: the Raccoon and the Wolf. But which celebrities hid in the suits?
“We have a Countess of the Royal Houses”
The Raccoon is the first character to send the audience home. Immediately upon his arrival on stage, the panelists were impressed by his suit. “What a nice suit. A very tall man,” Carlo Boszhard immediately noticed. It is immediately clear to Loretta Schrijver who is in the suit, because she recognizes her former colleague out of thousands. “This is Jan de Hoop’s walk,” she says.
After the panel unanimously agrees that Jan is in the suit, he reveals his identity not much later. He hesitated for a long time to participate, but decided to give it a try and ended up having a lot of fun. “I can’t sing or dance. (…) Very nice, but I’m glad it’s over,” he confesses. “It’s good, because next time there will be dance moves.”
It was no surprise to Jan that Loretta immediately recognized him. “We have known each other for 45 years. She is my sweet TV sister. So I love her. I predicted. She will hear that within five seconds, but I think she was even faster.”
Not much later it is time for the second revelation and the Wolf is forced to leave the battle scene. When she showed up, a number of panel members were quite sure that Nikkie Plessen would be hidden in the suit, but during her performance they came up with other names. Monica thought she knew this celebrity personally, but she could not think of her name. “Who is this? I’m not getting well,” she said in frustration.
After her performance, Monica thought she was sure that model Romee Strijd would be in the Wolf’s suit, but this turned out to be none other than Countess Eloise of Orange. “I just recognized your voice. I just knew I would know you. So annoying if you don’t know,” Monica sighs. None of the panel members could guess her identity, but her participation gave the program a royal touch. “We have a Countess of the Royal Houses.”
Eloise especially enjoyed seeing all the surprised faces and was very impressed with her suit. “I really love this suit,” she said with a smile on her face.
