The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) is expanding its collaboration with the Belgian digital services group IO (formerly Intracto). The web agency will make climate scenarios that the weather institute predicts digitally available in a data portal.

In 2022, the KNMI and IO joined forces for the first time. Since then, they have been working together to build various customer portals in which users gain access to current, accurate weather information and other relevant data. These portals are essential for port companies, water boards, safety regions and aviation organizations. In addition, IDE contributes to the further development of the website as a calling card for the organization.

That collaboration is now being expanded. The KNMI no longer only counts on IO for the website and the KNMI extranets, but also for the digital availability of the climate scenarios. This allows policymakers to map the consequences of climate change and extreme weather and make decisions accordingly. The contours of the data platform are now ready; IDE is now expanding this with data visualizations.

IO/Intracto was founded in 2005 and, following various acquisitions, operates from offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Bulgaria.
