Exploit at the start of the World Cup: The U20 national team beats Finland in extra time.
The Swiss U20 selection beats the reigning vice world champion at the start in Moncton. After 41 seconds in extra time, Captain Attilio Biasca scored the 3:2 for the team of head coach Marco Bayer.
The victory is by no means stolen. The Swiss shoot at goal much more frequently than the Finns (27:16), who lost to the Canadians in the final at the last World Cup in August of this year.
During regulation time, the Nati equalize the Finnish lead thanks to Lorenzo Canonica (33′), then Jeremy Jabola pokes them 2-1 in front (45′).
The successful start was announced in the preparation. After the 0:6 once morest defending champion Canada, morale was fueled once morest the Czech Republic (4:2) and Sweden (4:3 aet). The other Nati group opponents at the World Cup in Moncton are Latvia, the USA and Slovakia. (yup)
