Third mission for Reichel
When the Chicago Blackhawks lost 1-0 to the Dallas Stars following a penalty shoot-out, Lukas Reichel briefly played for the third time in the world’s best ice hockey league. A month following his last assignment, the 19-year-old from Nuremberg was called to the Blackhawks by the Rockford Icehogs farm team on game day.
Reichel had 18 minutes on the ice and was also allowed to compete in the penalty shootout. There he failed to Stars goalie Jake Oettinger, who had previously saved all 34 shots on his goal in the game and recorded his first NHL shutout.
