HV71 comes from a few stormy seasons with several sacked coaches. Ahead of this year’s season, they have made a major change in management.
Chris Abbott has come in as the new sporting director and even before that Anton Blomqvist, formerly in AIK, had been presented as the new head coach. At the same time, they have changed the team captain from André Petersson to the new acquisition Olle Alsing.
In Hockey night, Jonas Andersson and Johanna Dahlén agreed that a fresh start was necessary, but Andersson questions the choice of Blomqvist.
This is because there are many uncertainty factors as there are many changes.
– Is Blomqvist a good SHL coach? He doesn’t know that himself, says Jonas Andersson, referring to the fact that Blomqvist has not previously trained in the SHL.
