Ice cream, cookies, cake and cheese. The module that MINCIN claims to be delivering

Authorities from the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) updated on August 19 the type of modules they were delivering to all provinces and insisted that some contain ice cream, cookies, cake and cheese. Where?

In mid-July of this year, the island’s trade authorities announced the introduction of a new module that would be sold at a “modest price” through Cuban grocery stores, available through the ration book.

The module, aimed exclusively at children turning 15, would include products such as cakes, hams, syrups and cookies.

Starting that month and on a permanent basis, according to officials, a special food module would be put on sale that would include a cake, sandwich bread, cookies, cheese, cream cheese, a bag of soda or syrup, a package of hot dogs and a one-kilogram tube of ham, in provinces such as Sancti Spíritus, for example.

But from “saying to doing.” Shortly after, reports came in that the module had greatly deteriorated its products and some readers claimed that it was not being given in their specific province. However, MINCIN again indicated this week that it is being given out.

MINCIN module in Cuba: Ice cream, biscuits, cake

On August 19, the MINCIN reiterated in a report on its official website that they are indeed giving out the module to fifteen-year-olds, with ice cream, cookies, cake, etc.

They said that during the month of July, the sale of special modules for teenagers who turn 15 began, covering the entire national territory, with except for the provinces of Havana, Las Tunas and Guantanamo.

This measure, they point out, is part of the fulfillment of objective No. 7 of the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) for the care of adolescents and young people.

The modules include, according to them, products such as cake, soft drinks and others that vary according to the region, including options such as snack breads, cookies, bread sticks, sausages, croquettes, snack pasta, cheese and ice cream.
