Dubai: The Indian team suffered a major setback in the ICC Test rankings due to the defeat in the Test series once morest South Africa (SA vs IND) and the unexpected departure of captain Virat Kohli. Australia retains top spot in India’s Test rankings

A 4-0 win over England in the Ashes puts Australia at the top of the Test rankings. India, meanwhile, dropped to third following losing the series 2-1 following taking a 1-0 lead in the series once morest South Africa. New Zealand are second with a draw in the Test series once morest Bangladesh.

Australia regained the top spot with 119 rating points. New Zealand is in second place with 117 rating points and India is in third place with 116 rating points. The rating points difference between the top three is three points, while fourth – placed England have only 101 rating points.

Despite winning the series once morest India, South Africa are fifth with 99 rating points. Before the series once morest South Africa, India were at the top of the Test rankings. India’s next Test series will be once morest Sri Lanka, who are ranked seventh in February.
