ICC postpones Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has postponed the Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The qualifying tournament of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to be held in New Zealand next year was to be played in Sri Lanka from July 3 to 19, but now the ICC has postponed the event due to the global epidemic of Corona virus.

Pakistan women team is also to participate in the event. Pakistan Women’s team has to play this qualifier tournament due to ICC deducting three points.

For the matches of the ICC Women’s Championship, the Indian board did not host Pakistan due to the lack of permission from the government, and when the matter reached the ICC, the ICC awarded the women’s teams of Pakistan and India equally. Three points were given.

Thanks to these three points, the Indian team qualified directly for the World Cup, while the Pakistan women’s team could not qualify directly due to getting three points and they have to participate in the qualifiers in Sri Lanka, which has now been decided by the ICC. It has been postponed due to the corona virus.

Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Bisma Maruf says that the postponement of the event is understandable, at a time when sporting activities around the world are being postponed and public gatherings have been stopped.

Basmia Maruf said that I am hopeful that the situation will return to normal soon, I am missing cricket a lot at the moment, I hope that sports activities will start after the situation returns to normal soon.

It should be noted that the fitness test of the players of Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team is going on these days. The team management says that the series of preparations will continue in the same way so that as soon as the sports activities start, there is no difficulty for the players.
