Issa said, during his “Cairo Talk” program, on the “Cairo and the People” satellite channel, on Thursday evening, that Sheikh Al-Shaarawi’s fans are wrong, and his fame has expanded for several reasons, the most important of which is his slang in public speaking and his acting performance.
Journalist Ibrahim Issa pointed out the necessity of separating love for Sheikh Metwally Al-Shaarawi and attachment to his ideas and opinions, stressing that whoever wants to present a work on Sheikh Shaarawi’s personality has absolute freedom, but this work should not be under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.
And the presenter of the Cairo Hadith continued, that Sheikh Al-Shaarawi is not a reference and he is only a verbal sheikh, indicating that Sheikh Al-Shaarawi’s fans are the middle class, and they are blessed with the images of Sheikh Al-Shaarawi, because he is an Egyptian rural sheikh, and 90% of his audience did not hear him and did not scrutinize his speech and ideas.
The journalist, Ibrahim Issa, pointed out that the attachment of the middle class to Sheikh Al-Shaarawi is due to nostalgia for memories, just as Sheikh Al-Shaarawi is the one who opened the door of television to oral preachers and preachers.
