The Pokémon series, which successfully entered the open world through the recently released ‘Pokemon Legend Arceus’, is back with a new open world game. It is also expected to be a new generation numbering work, not a side story.
At the Pokemon Present held on the night of the 27th, the trailer for the new series ‘Pokemon Scarlet Violet’ was unveiled for the first time. In the video, you can see the bustling city of the present, not the past, along with the wide field implemented as an open world like in the legend Arceus. However, considering that the previous work, Legend Arceus, implemented an imperfect ‘semi open world’, attention is focused on how the open world will be solved in this work.
The overall graphic level did not change much from the legendary Arceus, but it feels a little more pleasing to the eye in that it depicts a bustling modern city. In particular, the region that will be the stage of this game seems to be composed of the motif of the Iberian Peninsula where Spain and Portugal are located, and through this, it is predicted that there will be many marine-related contents such as the sea, sailing, and islands. The uniforms of the main characters are slightly different depending on the Scarlet version and the Violet version, but overall it is the same design as the school uniform.
This work is the 9th generation work, unlike the 8th generation Sword and Shield and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. As the starting Pokémon, Naoha (grass), Taga (fire), and Kuwax (water) were released. Naoha looks like a grass cat, sharp and cute, and seems a bit laid-back as a hot flame crocodile. Kuwax is a water duck Pokémon, with a serious and clever expression.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are scheduled to be released simultaneously worldwide on the Nintendo Switch in winter 2022, and details of the game will be revealed later.
