A positive assessment of the 2023 management was carried out by Empresas Iansa, within the framework of its Ordinary Shareholders’ Meeting (JOA). At the event, headed by the president of the board of directors, Gonzalo Sanhueza, and the company’s General Manager, Pablo Montesinos, the company’s progress in economic, social and environmental matters was announced.
“The year 2023 was very important for us, since Empresas Iansa completed seven decades of history, and at the same time we saw the fruits of a solid 5-year strategic plan that focused on innovation, operational excellence, sustainability and consolidation as a company. food. We had impeccable management, which translated into excellent results, the best in the last nine years and a growth of 49% over the same period,” said Gonzalo Sanhueza, president of Empresas Iansa.
For his part, Pablo Montesinos, General Manager of the company, commented: “This year we capitalized on our position in the food industry, as a result of the intense work we have been doing. Three significant milestones were: the launch of the second production line for tomato paste and fruit pulp at Patagoniafresh to double our production, which together with Icatom in Peru, positions us as one of the main producers of tomato paste. Worldwide; the beginning of the construction of the new Distribution and Packaging Center in the Noviciado sector, commune of Pudahuel and the voluntary repurchase of 89% of our bond maturing in May 2024, which, added to the sale of certain expendable real estate assets, “They allow us to have the necessary financial strength to continue with the growth and development of the company.”
Empresas Iansa reported a significant improvement in financial results, highlighting sales revenue of USD 580.2 million, showing an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period in 2022. The operational result of the food company was USD 24 .0 million, also higher by USD 14.3 million than the same period in 2022.
On the other hand, Humphreys improved the bond classification of Empresas Iansa SA from “Category BBB+” to “Category A” – changing its trend from “Favourable” to “Stable”, which responds to the fact that the company has managed to consolidate positive results during 2023, given the restructuring plan carried out by the administration,” according to the risk rating agency.
Regarding sustainable development, the company defined its climate strategy, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 29% by 2030. Additionally, it participates in the Blue Certified Clean Production Agreement (CPA) with the Ñuble and Quepe, promoted by the Agency for Sustainability and Climate Change (ASCC). Likewise, it had a decrease of 1.77% in the total intensity of CO2 emissions compared to 2022 and an increase in the revaluation of waste to 91% in all its production plants.
