It was on the occasion of the 2nd edition of the interviews of excellence which took place on March 18, 2023 at the campus of the African Institute of Informatics (IAI) in Yaoundé.
The event, which took place on the esplanade of the PAUL BIYA Technological Center of Excellence in Nkolanga, was placed under the leadership of the founding president, Marie Victoire Venus Ploton, in the presence of the Resident Representative of IAI-Cameroon, Armand Claude Abanda.
Competence and behavior: two fundamental notions
It is the Resident Representative of IAI-Cameroon who took on the task of expanding on this subject in order to educate these young secondary school students on the dangers associated with the misuse of computers. For Armand Claude Abanda, youth is the spearhead of the Nation. He therefore advises these young people to always make sure to put together competence and behavior. “Competence at school, in your professions and behavior in social networks and in the public square”, he hammered.
Support for partner ministries
Representatives of partner ministries, namely the Ministry of Secondary Education and the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family, also took an active part in this ceremony, which brought together nearly 600 students from several secondary schools and the superior of the city of Yaoundé and its surroundings.
Also, Elie Nguélé Meyanga, Regional Delegate of the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family (Minproff) of the Centre, will take the floor to note that: “Each of these children, each of these girls comes from a family and families are the targets of the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family. We have therefore come to encourage them to take seriously the information given to them because, they say, the boy of today is the father of tomorrow, just like the girl of today is the mother. of tomorrow “.
Goals to achieve
According to Marie Victoire Venus Ploton, the founding president of the “Interviews of Excellence”, this initiative which aims to support young people in school towards their success also intends to give rudiments to young students by 2030.
“We have children who are young, who are in 4th, 3rd and we have the mission, the duty, as recalled by the President of the Republic, to prepare them to be precisely at work and successful for 2030”, she says before continuing, “2030 is what, these are the issues that we have an obligation to show them”. The promoter also took the opportunity to announce for the near future, innovations within the framework of this program.
