The Yomiuri Shimbun reported today (29th) that International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA Secretary-General Raphael Grossi, who has verified the plan to discharge contaminated water from Fukushima, Japan, is coordinating a plan to visit Korea next month to explain the verification results.

Secretary-General Grossi will visit Japan on the 4th of next month to deliver the final report on the Fukushima contaminated water discharge plan to Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and then visit Korea, New Zealand, and the Pacific island nation of the Cook Islands to explain the contents of the report.

The Japanese government hopes that Secretary-General Grossi’s trip to the three countries will deepen understanding of contaminated water in neighboring countries and Pacific island countries, Yomiuri said.
