IACHR warns of acts that threaten freedom of expression in Venezuela

This Thursday, the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression (RELE) of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) issued a statement in which it shared its concern over events that threaten the development of freedom of the press and information in the country.

This year alone, at least 13 radio stations have closed.

The group reiterated its call to the administration of Nicolás Maduro “to respect and guarantee the right to freedom of expression, especially of journalists and communicators, who contribute to public debate”.
