“I will not be a victim of the media.” Former Israeli hostage denies being beaten by the Palestinian factions movement

Arghmani wrote in a post on her Instagram story: “I cannot ignore what the Israeli media has been doing to me over the past 24 hours, and taking my words out of context.”

She confirmed that “the movement’s members did not beat me in captivity and did not cut my hair, but I was injured after a wall collapsed as a result of an Israeli air force raid,” stressing that “no one beat me in captivity, but I was injured all over my body after the raid.”

She added: “I am a victim of the October 7 operation and I cannot be a victim again of the Israeli media.”

On Thursday, several Israeli media outlets, including the newspaper Maariv, reported Argamani’s statements, which she said she made to diplomats from the G7 countries in Tokyo, Japan.

“I was beaten all over my body, I had wounds on my head, and no one came to see me, examine me or provide me with medical help until I was rescued,” Arghmani said, according to the newspaper. “Every night I went to sleep thinking that this might be the last night of my life.”

Argamani confirmed in a statement last June that the Israeli army had bombed the house where she had previously been, which led to the killing of two prisoners who were in it, Itai Versky and Yossi Sharaabi.

“I saw the rocket hit the house, and I was sure I would die, but I survived,” she told Israel Hayom, noting that the factions’ members moved her between houses and allowed her to go out from time to time to get some air, while she was disguised as an Arab woman.

Arghmani, 26, is one of the most famous faces among the hostages kidnapped by the factions’ movement on October 7.

She was seen in footage being taken to the Strip on a motorbike, pleading for her life as her boyfriend was taken away on foot. Her boyfriend, Avinatan Or, is still being held hostage.

Arghmani was rescued from a residential building in central Gaza on June 8 along with three other hostages in an operation carried out by Israeli special forces.
