Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has praised Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s performance at the World Cup but said he would discuss his controversial celebration following beating France in the final before the Premier League resumed.
And following Argentina’s victory over France on penalties, goalkeeper Martinez stirred controversy while celebrating the victory of the Golden Glove and also during the victory celebrations in Buenos Aires, as he carried a baby doll with the face of Kylian Mbappe during the victory parade on the open-top bus.
“When you’re so happy, it’s hard to control yourself,” Emery told a news conference on Friday. I will discuss with him some of the things he did during the victory celebrations.
