Former US President Donald Trump accepted the Republican presidential nomination on Thursday, predicting an ‘unbelievable victory’ and opening day one of America’s crackdown on illegal immigrants if elected. Borders Has expressed determination to close.
Speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, 78-year-old Trump said, “We will have an incredible victory, and we will begin four of the greatest years in our country’s history,” according to the AFP news agency.
It was his first speech since last week’s suicide attack during a rally, in which he suffered minor injuries from a gunshot wound to the ear. A person standing with Trump was killed in the attack.
In an emotional recollection of the shooting, Trump said God was with him. The former president called for a moment of silence to honor fallen firefighter Corey Compter.
He kissed a retired firefighter’s helmet on stage in front of a silent crowd. Trump also showed a $1 million check donated by a friend to help the family of Corey Komperter and two others who were injured at the rally.

His wife Melania Trump, who is rarely seen on the campaign trail, was with him on Thursday for the first time this week.
Before Trump’s speech on Thursday, retired wrestler Hulk Hogan also endorsed Donald Trump for president. During his speech, he famously tore off his shirt on stage to reveal a shirt with Trump’s name on it.
