Charlotte Gainsbourg gave an interview to the magazine Female Version which will be published on Monday, November 22, 2021. In the latter, the actress and singer confided regarding her mental health during her return to Paris.
Charlotte Gainsbourg has been living between New York and Paris for several years now. It was in 2013 that she decided to fly to the big apple following the death of her sister Kate Barry who fell from the fifth floor of his apartment. Charlotte Gainsbourg wishes to isolate herself to take a step back from this tragic event. She had confided on the subject in the columns of Mrs. Figaro january 14, 2021 : “New York has allowed me to do a lot of things. It’s a stimulating city, and then there I am anonymous, in a bubble, so very concentrated. By April, New York had become this deserted, end-of-the-world city, and I had a panic attack.“ But the actress decides to leave everything in June 2020 to return to her relatives who live in Paris : “ I thought to myself: enough of living all separated, I need to be with Yvan, my son, my mother, Yvan’s mother”.
“She always knew how to do it when we were going bad”
A feeling that she addresses once once more in the columns of Female Version. In this interview that will appear in the issue of November 22, 2021, Charlotte Gainsbourg made some confidences regarding her mental health as she was regarding to start shooting the documentary Jane by Charlotte dedicated to his mother Jane Birkin : “We filmed in New York to soften the climate, but it was when we returned to Paris, at the time of Covid-19, that it all started. I went into depression but I had planned to film. I stuck to it and my mother helped me a lot”, does she start by confessing.
“She always knew how to do it when we were going bad. She offered herself totally for the film. There was not only the memory of Kate, who was the real photographer, but I also wanted to show her very closely” then concludes Charlotte Gainsbourg.
