Bali gubernatorial candidate from the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) I Wayan Koster said that after the drawing of the gubernatorial election ballot numbers, his party would immediately maximize various activities during the campaign period.
He said the strategy used by the Koster-Giri pair was different from usual. The two would share tasks during the campaign. During the campaign, Koster would always involve local community leaders.
“I will campaign more in Buleleng later, Pak Giri will campaign in Badung, Denpasar. We prioritize local figures who are invited to campaign around the village to meet the community and have direct contact with the community,” said Koster in Denpasar, Monday (23/9).
During the campaign period, he and the party machine will come from village to village intensively. The way to do this is by involving community leaders in the village. He will talk and meet directly with the people in the village. Involving community leaders in the village is more effective because they are the ones who will talk about figures, about development programs that have been achieved, about programs that are running and will be achieved in the future.
According to him, the effort will be more effective because the campaign is delivered in simple and communicative language. The community leaders are considered to be more listened to by the community when compared to massive mass mobilization in open fields.
The same thing was also conveyed by the Candidate for Deputy Regent of Buleleng Gede Supriatna. He said that the joint campaign with the Candidate for Governor of Bali will be adjusted to the schedule issued by the local KPUD. If the time is the same, the location is the same, the joint campaign will be a priority.
“The campaign will be more in the villages, in direct contact with the community, and for a big campaign it will probably not be done because it is considered less effective at this time. It also mobilizes too many people and causes traffic jams. It is better to go directly to the village to meet the community directly, get complaints and the community’s wishes for the development of Bali and Buleleng in the future,” he concluded. (Z-11)
