On the 5th, the first Children’s Day since social distancing was lifted, amusement parks and major event venues across the country were crowded. Children’s Day coincides with the stepping stone holiday, and the weather is sunny.

On the 5th, on the online community and social network service (SNS), the appearance of Everland in Yongin, full of people, became a hot topic.

Everland, which is crowded with family visitors, was crowded with people without a place to step on that day. “I expected it, but I didn’t expect it to be this crowded,” said one visitor. “I was surprised as soon as we arrived.”

Although the duty to wear an outdoor mask was lifted, it was difficult to find those who did not wear a mask.

It is recommended to wear a mask if it is difficult to keep a distance of 1m due to the large number of people even outdoors at amusement parks.

On this day, the ‘T Now’ service that provides real-time traffic volume data to popular destinations in the navigation application (app) T Map was also the most popular destination in real time (as of 10 am), Yongin Everland, where more than 2,500 vehicles were headed.

Legoland in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, which officially opened on the same day, also drew crowds to celebrate Children’s Day. Legoland is Korea’s first global theme park built on an area of 280,000 square meters in Hwangdo Island, Chuncheon. The organizers of the event estimated that more than 10,000 people visited each day.

At the request of Gangwon-do and Chuncheon-si, Legoland limited the number of visitors to less than 12,000 on that day through advance reservations.
