Dulquer Salmaan opens up regarding his first role without the advantage of nepotism. In an interview to Keli Tales YouTube channel, Dulquer spoke regarding acting in an advertisement when he was 10 years old.

‘I am only ten years old now. Wapachi has no part in this. The role is not gained by nepotism advantage. Rajiv Menon’s ad agency selected me from a pool.

They came to my school that day to select children to act in an advertisement. They selected me. He got 2000 rupees as a reward for acting in it.

That money was huge for me, like two crores today. I gave Rs 500 out of it to my grand parents and the rest will be given to Ummachi. After that, when she sees something, Umm Chee will ask if I don’t have 2000 rupees in my hand and can I buy it. Ummachi will say that your 2000 rupees are gone,’ said Dulquer.

As far as the release day collection reports are concerned, the film has performed well. Chup earned between 2.5 crores and 3 crores from India on the first day.
