Yelitze Santaella, Minister of Education of the government of Nicolás Maduro, assured that the Venezuelan educational system is in a privileged situation compared to other countries, including the United States.

«I was in New York and I am convinced that the teachers of Venezuela have a place of honor, the teachers who have dedicated part of their lives to this exercise. When you listen outside this country to the presentations that were made at the summit, we came to the conclusion that while they are crawling, we are walking”, express Santaella during the ExpoFair school 2022-2

The official was referring to the Summit on the Transformation of Education of the United Nations that was held on September 17 in New York.

“Venezuela has great achievements in education,” he insisted, and reaffirmed that classes will begin on October 3.

“The school plan and the Expoferia seek to provide parents and representatives with supplies and uniforms at a more affordable price,” added Santaella.

Subsidized shoes for teachers

Earlier, Nicolás Maduro announced that teachers will be provided with portfolios.

In addition, a plan was finalized to offer subsidized shoes to teachers. They will cost 9 bolívares, according to Maduro.

«They are different types of shoes. We are going to subsidize a large part so that they have these very beautiful shoes. They are going to cost 9 bolívares,” said the pro-government leader while showing the shoe models.
