Adele and Ed Sheeran will not be able to perform at the King Charles coronation concert.

The ‘Hello’ singer, 34, is said to have declined the invitation, and A-Team singer Ed, 32, is said to have a concert in America that would make it ‘difficult’ for him to attend the May 7 concert at the Chateau de Windsor.

Adele has no public plans for May 7 or following March 25, the date of one of her last shows in Las Vegas.

The Sun reported on Sunday (19.02.23) that she is apparently “stuck in other commitments that will prevent her from attending.

The Mail on Sunday said sources close to Ed say show organizers have been told he is busy and will not be able to play the event at Windsor Castle on May 7 – the day following the Coronation of the King at Westminster Abbey.

A source involved in planning the show, according to the publication, said: “The King suggested a number of people he would like to see perform. Adele and Ed were on that list. He was very keen that they are part of the concert.

“A team was put in place to sign artists but they weren’t available which was a big disappointment. They are titans of the showbiz industry and are quintessentially British, but also known in the world. It’s really a shame.”

Ed is scheduled to attend a show in Texas the day before the coronation.

The singer closed the late Queen’s platinum jubilee show in June 2022 with her hit “Perfect”, chosen as a tribute to the then-monarch and her late husband, Prince Philip.

King Charles, 74, is reportedly keen for Harry Styles, 29, to star in the show, while Lionel Richie, 73, is said to be set to accept, as are the Spice Girls.
