A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for an el Mianyang Courtin the province of Sichuanto central China, after he was found guilty of the death of his son, whom accidentally stabbed with a katana while trying to “motivate” him to study more.

He parricide occurred on January 7, 2022, after Yang Junming held an online meeting with the minor’s teacher, who informed him of his 13-year-old son’s poor academic performance. Furious, he went to claim him for the complaints of his teacher and accused him of “too lazy”.

“I got so angry that I took a Japanese samurai sword and I approached to stab him”, the murderer explained before the judge, in statements collected today by the Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post.

After being attacked by his father, the boy suffered a deep cut 10 centimeters long at the height of his waist, for which he had a great loss of blood that led to his death, despite the doctors’ attempts to control the hemorrhage. “I just wanted to scare him, I did the worst with the best motivation”, Yang pointed out about his inadmissible corrective.

However, this would not have been the first time that the minor had been violated by his father, since forensic examinations discovered that the child had older injuries registered in his body.
