I wanted everyone to see it: Actress Divya releases that deleted scene from the port

Actress Divya Usha Gopinath talks about her character, which was edited and removed due to the length of the film. Some scenes of Divya’s character were removed in Rajeev Ravi’s film Thaarumukh. Divya played the role of a Malappuram girl in the movie.

Divya’s Facebook post

“My understanding is that an actor has to learn from the character he has done before and after the film. After the release of the film, it is possible to study the audience’s view of the character played by an actor from the views and opinions of the audience. Although my scenes in the movie Thuramugam did not come up to the attention of the audience due to some technical issues. An actress who went through the process of Thuramugam had a lot to learn. As a performer, Port is a blessing for me as a performer to have a lot of experience that can be learned over a long period of time in an actor’s life.

A lot of people have sent messages after so many days have passed since the release of the movie. Why is such a small character not doing scenes that just happen here and there? Malappuramkari was beyond that for me. The process of this film is the answer for me. I enjoyed and performed Malappuramkari written and prepared by Gopan Mash in a space that many people wanted, in Rajivetan’s frame, on a set with around ten people. I wanted everyone to watch the movie when it released, but due to length issues in the movie, I couldn’t get some parts of it to you.

I enclose herewith one of my favorite scenes in the harbour. Photography is also a visual medium. Of course, I have all the frustration of not being able to hear you comment on the character. But I am very happy and proud to be a part of the historical film, whether it is small or big. A port is a history, the story of a land, the story of the lives of the people of that land. What every audience can see in the theater is life, not actors. Life is always slow paced. Enjoy it as it is. Everyone in the harbor is lovingly embraced. A lot of love to Joji Ettan, who captured those moments when the Malappuram girl’s mind began to lose its rhythm through photographs.
