He denounced the situation in which the French economy is held by foreign capital: “We have no other choice to balance our balance of payments than to allow foreign investors to take over our vineyards, our hotels and our businesses”, declared the former Minister of the Economy and Productive Recovery.
Another reason for Arnaud Montebourg’s concerns is respect for our climate commitments. “We will have to make choices,” he said, pleading for the necessary maintenance of a dynamic economy and the protection of the planet. “I have two brains: I want to reindustrialize and I am an ecologist,” he declared, convinced of “the urgency of decarbonization”. “The younger generations are right to worry. They will live with the nightmare we left them”.
