Is touring, after all, an enjoyable experience?
We have started our tour and I am extremely happy. When you are with people you can communicate with, laugh at, at the same time that the show is sold out, then it can only be a fantastic experience. We are talking about the ideal condition.
What’s the vibe you get from the world?
They give us the ultimate reward. Especially the people of the countryside, who do not often have the opportunity to see the show they want or to talk to the actors, open a huge embrace to us.
How would you describe your heroine?
Both me and Vicky Stavropoulou with our theater men, Christos Hatzipanagiotis and Konstantinos Gavalas, are not the best people (laughs)… The heroes are somewhat greedy, they step on corpses to earn as much as possible. All this, of course, in the light of comedy to exorcise parts that we may all have inside us!
How do you feel about this great public acceptance?
Theater is live, immediate, there is this “give and take” with the world and that is why it is unique and different from cinema and television. You laugh on the board, you see the audience laughing. There is no better feeling and no greater reward. People always need laughter. Comedy must have a place.
In addition to the laughter you give with “Dads with Rum”, we will see you in the new season on TV with ALPHA’s comedy “The Curse of Jella Delafraga”…
We have finished shooting, now we are looking at the details and we are looking forward to seeing the final result in October. I want to see all this, which we did for eight months, how it has been captured on the small screen.
Was there a lot of laughing on set?
Unbelievably much! There were times when we couldn’t complete the scenes. We were a great team, I love teams, by the way. Over the years, at work I have created beautiful relationships that flourish and evolve.
How do you feel that people have associated you with comedy? Do you receive their love?
Yes, I feel her. I enjoy comedy, that’s what I want in my job. Whatever I do, whether it’s a comedy or a crime thriller like ‘Other Me’, I want to enjoy it because that’s how a good feeling goes into the world.
Personally, at what stage do I succeed you?
I feel a balance. I feel that I have managed to balance all my pieces and can now put a lot of energy into what is happening professionally.
What does Niki dream of?
To enjoy whatever I do, whatever I choose, whether professionally or personally. I’m interested in how what’s coming rests on me.
What are your steadfast values?
My people, myself, my work!
Did you chase success?
What has happened was my desire and need for a game. This profession is an endless game. This unique joy is created for you.
Behind the image of the charming woman, is there a child hiding?
I want to keep my childishness, carelessness! We all adults need it. We can’t be kids forever, it’s nice to grow up.
How do you cope with the passing of time?
Like I told you, I want to get the benefits of the game, but not be a little kid. I like growing up.
Will you be taking vacations and short breaks between tours?
Because a lot of people say to me “ah, you’re not going on vacation”… I’m on vacation every day. We go all over Greece with the tour, we know beautiful places, we swim in wonderful waters, we eat local dishes and in the evening we play our show and make people happy. What more could I ask for! I also have a wonderful company, my colleagues, don’t forget that!
Since you mentioned food, how much do you take care of your body?
I love food, I’m not the woman who only eats yogurt. I eat, but in moderation. I see and feel the benefits of having a balanced diet, I’m holding on (laughs). But when I want to enjoy something, I will do it without regrets. At the same time, I work out. I find it to be the greatest anti-depressant. My psyche is rising.
