Adán Augusto López Hernández affirmed that he will be the next president of Mexico and will continue the transformation of the country through public policies focused on the social sphere, improving the well-being of the most needy people.

During an interview with host Sabina Berman, the Secretary of the Interior predicted that in 2024 Morena will win the presidential elections and will have to convince party members to choose him as a candidate to succeed current President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

“I definitely want to be president and I will seek the candidacy of my party. I will be the candidate and at the time I will be president because I believe that I have been trained in different spaces of the public administration and politically, ”he said.

The person in charge of the internal policy of the government of Mexico pointed out that he has a panoramic vision of the country because he accompanied the current chief executive on his tours of the most forgotten communities.

“It is not demagoguery to say that the poor come first. Now we have to think regarding whether we can evolve, and for the good of all, more jobs; for the good of all, more security; for the good of all, greater national integration; for the good of all, greater economic, political and social development, ”he stressed.

He stressed that he is a man of the left and is close to the feelings of the people, which allows him to know the problems they face, such as insecurity, unemployment, corruption and water scarcity, among others.

Regarding security, he recognized that the battle has not yet been won and there are very complicated states in the country, however, the National Public Security Strategy is beginning to yield results, such as a decrease in kidnapping, a crime that inhibits economic development and investment.

Regarding hydraulic infrastructure, he explained that the overexploitation of aquifers and climate change present a great challenge in terms of water scarcity, which requires greater investment in dams, pipelines, and modern desalination plants. “Today we face serious water scarcity problems in Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Durango, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Zacatecas and Querétaro, and in the city itself,” he said.
