[European/overseas football news & transfer information]Satoshi Tanaka is close to moving to Kortrijk.

Shonan Bellmare’s 20-year-old midfielder Satoshi Tanaka is close to moving to Belgian first division Kortrijk. Shonan made the announcement on its official website.

Tanaka, who joined the Shonan U-18 team in 2018, will play as a second-class registered player in 2019 and 2020. After earning a place in the 2020 season, he made 17 appearances in J1 league matches. In addition, in the 2021 season, he scored 2 goals in 36 games and is growing into a main force in Shonan.

He has played 17 league games so far this season, but it has been decided that he will be transferred to Kortrijk on loan in the middle of the season. While expressing his apologies on his official website, Tanaka emphasized that his overseas transfer is his dream.

“First of all, I’m very sorry that I mightn’t show you playing until the end in front of the fans and supporters, and I mightn’t say hello.”

“Transferring in the middle of the season would cause trouble for the team, and I think it would be selfish. When I made the decision, I thought regarding many things, such as whether this decision was really the right decision, or whether it would be better if I played more in Japan. However, now that I have sorted out my feelings, I am full of feelings that I want to play in Belgium, and I can’t help but look forward to the challenges ahead.”

“I joined Bellmare when I was in high school and have been indebted to me for the past four and a half years. There is no doubt that the days at Bellmare helped me develop my current playing style. I don’t think I was able to enter the world, and I don’t think this challenge to go overseas didn’t come true either. I am truly grateful to the director, coaches, and staff who have always used me for this.

“Since I became a professional player, I have not been able to play in the presence of cheering people due to the influence of the coronavirus, and I feel sad, but the supporters have clapped their hands until the end and supported me at Harisen, no matter what the situation was. Thank you very much. Finally, I am really grateful to my parents and family who have raised me so far.I will do my best to deliver good reports from Belgium to Japan.Thank you. “

Tanaka will leave Japan on the 22nd and sign a formal contract following a medical check.
