As previously reported, Apple will hold a keynote speech at WWDC (World Developer Conference) on June 5 (local time) at its headquarters in Cupertino, San Francisco, USA. As a spatial computing compatible device, the company announced “Apple Vision Pro”, the company’s first head-mounted display device. The Vision Pro can be driven independently for 2 hours with a battery. The display machine was also placed with the battery installed. When worn, the cable extends from the left back of the head. The battery itself is small and feels like it can fit in a pocket. It is close to the size of a smartphone. The design of the connector part gave me the impression of an Apple Watch charger.
There are other details that seem to be inspired by the same wearable Apple Watch. Digital Crown is one of them. It is mounted on the top of the main unit, and you can turn it to adjust the balance between the space and the image.
The convex shape on the left and right is probably a device for transmitting sound. It also supports spatial audio cultivated with AirPods technology.
AirPods-like details are also incorporated into the fabric used to secure the unit to the head. It’s like the AirPods Max headband, probably because it’s a device worn on the same head. There is a clasp on the inside, with orange tape sticking out. Here, it seems to remove Vision Pro.
There is a faint “M” written on the inside, so it may be that they prepare a size that matches the size of the head.
The information that can be read from the appearance is as follows. Unfortunately, at this point, we don’t have any information other than the keynote speech and press release, and we weren’t able to mount the actual machine. Sales will begin in the United States in 2024. Deployment in other countries and regions, including Japan, is scheduled for 2024, so it seems that the details will gradually become clear.
