It was belatedly known that Crypto.com, a cryptocurrency exchange, incorrectly deposited regarding 9.7 billion won into a customer’s account.

According to a report by Bloomberg on the 1st (local time) citing Australian media ‘Channel 7’, Crypto.com is refunding Australian dollars (regarding 93,000 won) applied by a woman living in Melbourne, Australia, in May of last year. In the process of processing, it was found that AUD 10.5 million (regarding 9.7 billion won) was deposited incorrectly.

According to the report, it was a mistake made by incorrectly entering the woman’s 9-digit account number in the ‘Amount column’ during the refund process.

Crypto.com was completely unaware of this for seven months. However, during an audit in December of that year, a mistake was identified.

The customer, who received a large sum of money, is said to have already used some of the money, such as buying a $1.35 million (regarding 1.25 billion won) property on the outskirts of Melbourne.

Meanwhile, a local court ordered the customer to return the entire money, including the sale of the property, to Crypto.com.
