Leon Goretzka has reacted to the release of Julian Nagelsmann. In a statement on Instagram, he praised the ex-coach of FC Bayern Munich.
Update from March 25, 11:44 p.m.: Leon Goretzka apparently thinks it’s really bad that Julian Nagelsmann is no longer the coach of FC Bayern Munich. The FCB star went even further following the international match once morest Peru (2-0). “I would be lying if the last few days haven’t affected us. It’s always extreme in a business like this how fast it can go,” said the 27-year-old on ZDF.
“We had a very close relationship with Julian. I probably saw him more often than my family,” Goretzka continued: “If someone like that isn’t there anymore, out of nowhere, then of course it’s a shock at first.”
You have to trust Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic to do the best for our club. That’s how it is in football, but we have to deal with it professionally.” When asked regarding his emotional post (see the first message from March 24), Goretzka said: “It’s not a bad thing that you’re honest and it gets emotional sometimes .”
Salihamidzic spoke regarding cracks between Nagelsmann and the team at the presentation of Thomas Tuchel on Saturday followingnoon. “I would be stupid if I contradicted my boss,” said Goretzka in Mainz: “Well, I personally didn’t have any cracks with Julian, but I don’t know how it was with the other players.”

Leon Goretzka thanks Julian Nagelsmann: “Trust, fun and appreciation”
“Thank you very much for the cooperation,” wrote the international on his Instagram page. “A collaboration that was always characterized by trust, fun and mutual respect. You are a great person and coach who we all wish the very best for.”
Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic had also emphasized the good relationship with Nagelsmann, but justified the release due to the recent phase of weakness in sport. Unfounded for one or the other expert, the Munich team is still on target in all competitions.
FC Bayern: Goretzka wants Nagelsmann’s “work to be successfully completed”
In the Bundesliga, the record champions are one point behind rivals Borussia Dortmund and within striking distance of the German championship. In the Champions League and in the DFB-Pokal, they easily made it into the quarter-finals. In terms of sport, Goretzka still sees Munich on the right track. “It is now up to us to bring your work to a successful conclusion. Thanks for everything!” wrote the FCB professional.
Under the post, Goretzka was applauded by fans for his thanks. “You always find the right words,” wrote one user and further: “You might see that he was there with all his heart and had a great connection to you.” Many fans had previously criticized the decision of Bayern officials.
Thomas Tuchel is the FCB coach for the top Bundesliga game once morest Borussia Dortmund
The release might also make Hasan Salihamidzic’s place less comfortable once more. The Bavarians are asked to pay quite a bit because of the exemption.
On April 1st, the FCB stars have to compete once more in everyday Bundesliga life. For Thomas Tuchel, the home game once morest leaders Borussia Dortmund will be the first game as Bayern Munich coach. Until then, Goretzka and Co. are still employed by the national team. (btfm)
