“I know a lady when I see her!” Didn’t try it and returned it because it was ‘tasteless’?

This is a post by a self-employed person who recently posted on an online self-employed community saying, “The truth is the truth from the time you place an order until the end.”

Author A sells apples at an open market, and says that a customer recently ordered 5kg of ‘ugly apples’ priced around 20,000 won.

Because these apples were small, they were an inexpensive product that was eaten by infants or used to make juice, etc.

The customer who ordered the apples said, “I am sending you a text message out of an old woman’s heart” even before delivery, and asked, “It is okay for the apples to be flawed or ugly, but please do not send apples that are tasteless.”

Mr. A then informed them that the product in question was “the smallest and most flawed apple” and that “there may be differences in taste.”

And when the delivery was completed, following 11 p.m., the customer sent another text message with a photo.

“I checked the apples right following work, but I was so annoyed that I sent the photos,” the customer said, adding, “10 of the apples were completely plain and tasteless,” and asked, “Please return all or only 10 of the apples.”

At the same time, he asked, “How can they sell something like this?” and also said, “Try it if you can.”

Mr. A, who saw this, complained, “As you can see from the photo, they are off-white apples with no visible scratches,” and, “They asked for a refund without even trying them, calling them ‘bare apples.’”

Mr. A informed the customer, “In the product description, it was written that the taste and color may be uneven, and even if the color is bluish, it has nothing to do with the degree of ripeness,” and that “if you want to return it, you must pay a shipping fee of 3,500 won.”

Then, the customer said he received a phone call.

According to Mr. A, the customer said, “I don’t know how old the seller is, but he is over 50, and since he is an old lady, I can tell just by looking at him.”

He then protested that he might not pay the return fee, saying, “I’m an old lady, so I don’t look at the product description on the detail page. I bought it following reading the reviews,” and then hung up, saying, “Please collect it for free.”

In the article, Mr. A said, “I was angry inside, but I let it go, hoping that my mother would not do the same thing somewhere else,” and added, “I wish people like this would try and buy fruit at the supermarket.”

Self-employed people who saw this story left sympathetic comments such as, “Can you taste it with your eyes?” and “They buy cheap apples and ask too much.”
