A terrible crime took place in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, after a woman killed and burned her husband in the Havalan neighborhood in central Erbil due to family disputes.
In the details, Erbil Police Spokesman, Hoker Aziz, announced in a press conference, that “at 10.25 am on Tuesday night, we received a report of a man committing suicide in the Havalan neighborhood.”
Burned in his bathroom
After the police teams arrived at the scene and conducted preliminary investigations, the body of Ahmed Jawad from Erbil, a 43-year-old employee of the Ministry of Culture, was found burned in the bathroom of his house.
However, following the intensification of investigations, it was found that the victim did not commit suicide by burning himself, but rather was killed and then burned.

Aziz also added that after 8 hours of investigation, the police were able to conclude that “his wife (D.G. M.), an Arab nationalist and a 29-year-old housewife, committed the crime.”
While the wife, who has been linked to the victim for 7 years and has two children with him, admitted that she hit her husband with a hammer on his head, and then took him to the bathroom and poured oil on him and set him on fire, before leaving the house for several hours and then returning and telling the neighbors that her husband had committed suicide to remove suspicions from her.
In addition, Aziz confirmed that legal measures were taken against the accused, and the instrument of committing the crime was confiscated.
