I have said that I am not an obstacle

Presidential candidate Enrique Márquez said on Thursday, May 23, that he is not an obstacle for Edmundo González in the presidential elections on July 28, following statements by Henrique Capriles in which he asked him to support the candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD).

In an interview with Radio Rumbos, Márquez said that he greatly respects Henrique Capriles, “I have worked with him for a long time and I understand his approach, I understand it perfectly because it seems to me to be an approach that is concerned regarding the country, regarding the opposition.”

In response to this, he said that he would only tell Capriles to be confident “that things are going to go very well.” In this regard, he recalled that he has said that he is not an obstacle, “I am not, I do not feel that way. But I am here to support or be supported.”

“We will see what is necessary over time to ensure that Venezuela has a political change, which is what we all want; both you, Capriles, and I, want the same thing, a Venezuela that is reborn,” he said.

This Thursday, Henrique Capriles Radonski, former governor of Miranda and presidential candidate on two occasions, asked Enrique Márquez and Benjamín Rausseo to support the candidacy of Edmundo González Urrutia for the PUD card, whom he described as a man prepared to assume the responsibility of the presidency of the Republic.
