A couple who were walking backwards on a sidewalk collided with a car.
On the 23rd, on the YouTube channel Han Moon-cheol TV, a video titled ‘I had an accident with a couple walking backwards. Do I have to deal with insurance in this case?’ was uploaded.
The black box video released by informant A contained an accident that occurred on a road in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul around 4 pm on the 21st.
In the video, the black box driver passed an intersection without traffic lights at a slow speed and had an accident with a couple walking backwards on the sidewalk.
Person A said, “It has been formally received by the police and is going to be investigated in the followingnoon of today (22nd).
He continued, “It’s not a normal walk,” he said.
He added, “It was so minor that I mightn’t even recognize the accident, and there was no other noise in the black box video.”
At the same time, Mr. A complained of injustice, saying, “Do I have to deal with the insurance and finish it? I am so angry and unfair.”
Lawyer Han Moon-cheol, who saw the video, said, “There is a possibility that it will be treated as an accident in violation of the duty to protect pedestrians because it collides at a crosswalk without a traffic light.”
He further advised, “Accidents in violation of the duty to protect pedestrians should be passed on to the opinion of prosecution and should be contested of not guilty.”
He added, “First, you have to apply for insurance, then report the results later and file a claim for the return of unfair profits,” he added.
