President Nicolás Maduro responded this Friday to Venezuelan influencer Lele Pons, who told the president that “he will not silence her.”

“I don’t want you to be silent, I want you to keep talking so that you fail again like you failed in the concert in Cúcuta,” said Maduro, from the Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

He added that “now Lele Pons is an electoral authority in Venezuela, a political leader. Now influencers are political leaders.”

In this regard, he denounced that they are carrying out “a manipulation operation.”

“He called on the Venezuelan people and youth to fight social media with the truth about Venezuela,” Maduro said.

Maduro criticizes Lele Pons

Last Thursday, August 15, Maduro criticized the artist’s decision to support the call for the protest this Saturday, August 17 in Miami.

For this reason, he told him “not to underestimate” Venezuela with an alleged “plan to conspire.”

“They did a concert in 2019 in Cúcuta and all the artists were drunk forever, because whoever messes with us dries up,” he said.
