Next December, one of the most successful adaptations of recent years will return to theaters: Sonic. The third installment will be the hedgehog’s big event on the big screen and, although it seems that it will reach its highest point with the appearance of Shadowone of its producers has revealed exciting news for fans.
In an interview with ComicBookthe executive producer of Sonic 3 Toby Ascher spoke briefly about the future that awaits the saga and the great ambition it has Paramount Pictures to continue expanding the Sonic universe with stories centered on other characters.
“There’s such a rich universe of stories. I don’t think we’re going to slow down at all,” said Ascher, who, while not confirming a fourth installment starring the hedgehog, made it clear that the studio doesn’t plan to stop in terms of productions after the release of this installment.
So far, the franchise has three films and a spin-off series starring KnucklesHowever, these statements suggest that we could see more projects, such as spin-offs focusing on popular characters like Tails or Amy, or an even more ambitious new film. Sonic 3 will hit theaters on December 25, 2024.
