‘I don’t know why I was kicked out of the World Cup, but it really bothered me’
Yuzvendra Chahal is currently the most important spin bowler of the Indian team. Every batsman in the world takes precautions when facing him. His method is to take wickets by spinning the batsmen around and getting them out by provoking them.
He was not included in the Indian team for the Twenty20 World Cup in 2021, despite holding the distinction of being the team’s main spinner for the past few years. Rahul Chahar replaced Chahal for India. But he failed to make the expected impact.
Chahal has returned to the Indian team following this year’s IPL. He took 27 wickets at an economy of 7.75 in this IPL. He was also the bowler who won the purple cap this year.
Chahal has said that he has not yet asked why he was not included in the World Cup team, but he is worried regarding it.
“I have not asked anyone why I was left out of the ICC T20 World Cup squad. But if you are not included in the team, it will be difficult for anyone. But maybe they thought they got a better player than me,’ said Chahal.
Chahal was talking to Sports Yaari. He says that all he had was a handful of good performances.
“I didn’t have a great performance to say. The only thing that was better was that performance I put up in the second half of IPL 2021 in UAE,’ added Chahal.
Chahal has returned to his best form and is gearing up for the Asia Cup starting on August 27. India’s first match is once morest Pakistan on August 28.
