In a strange incident, German federal prosecutors announced today, Thursday, that police had arrested a woman suspected of involvement in an attempt to kidnap Health Minister Karl Lauterbach earlier this year.
In detail, prosecutors stated that the woman, a German identified by the prosecution as Elizabeth R. Only, she is suspected of being the leader of an extremist group that plotted to kidnap Lauterbach and destroy electricity facilities to cut off service nationwide.

They added that she was involved in masterminding the plot on behalf of the extremist group, so she bought weapons and explosives and recruited people of the same ideology.
They also revealed that this group had set itself the goal of creating conditions similar to the civil war in Germany, and they decided to eventually overthrow the federal government and parliamentary democracy.
