Surprise at the Omega European Masters in the third round on Saturday: as the battle raged between the players, a distinguished spectator appeared. Invited by the tournament’s main sponsor, George Clooney left the big screen for the greens of Crans-Montana. “We have been the title sponsor of this mountain golf tournament for 21 years, but this is the first time we have had the pleasure of welcoming George here. We are delighted to be able to introduce him to this facet of Switzerland and our brand,” said Raynald Aeschlimann, CEO of Omega.
“I get why Omega loves this place so much. This brand never does things by halves and once again, I could not imagine a more beautiful location or a more prestigious sponsor for a golf tournament”, for his part confided the American actor via a press release. “What’s crazy when you talk to him is that you have the impression that you’ve known each other forever,” smiles tournament director Yves Mittaz, who was able to chat for a few moments with George Clooney. “His presence, which would have been impossible without our main partner, radiates the whole station, a canton and a country.”
