She has 4.7 million followers on Instagram, over a million on Facebook and just as many on Tiktok. Lena Meyer-Landrut seems to know very well that social media is part of the business. She regularly provides her fans with articles on new professional projects, publishes videos, snapshots and short messages. However, that might change in the future, because as the 31-year-old has now announced, she would like to ban the platforms – at least on her private smartphone.

The trigger for this drastic step: the singer feels overwhelmed. “I feel more and more that I can no longer cope with too much information and stimuli,” revealed the ESC winner from 2010 to the German Press Agency. Unlike before, it now takes her longer to recover and a lot more rest. “It can be due to age or the rapid developments in the world,” she says.

Lena will stay with her community

Then she makes an announcement that makes fans sit up and take notice: “I haven’t had the heart to delete Whatsapp and Instagram yet,” she says, “but I don’t think it will be long”. Thousands of messages a day and group chats would get to her.

However, fans can breathe a sigh of relief: they don’t have to do without news from the life of the pop singer. So Lena will probably get a second cell phone that she wants to use for professional purposes in the future.
