“I can’t get rid of this.” James Cameron Updates The Status Of ‘Avatar 3’ And Discusses The Long-Term Future Of This Hit Sci-Fi Franchise

James Cameron has once once more shown that he is the king of Hollywood with ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’well it is seventh highest-grossing film of all time with revenues in excess of $1.7 billion. Little by little it is time to focus on the future of the seriescon ‘Avatar 3’ being the number 1 priority today, and now the filmmaker has updated the status of it.

“I already know what I’m going to do for the next 6 or 7 years”

In an interview with journalist Chris Wallace, Cameron highlighted that ‘The sense of water’ it’s already a profitable movie -the director himself recently denied some previous comments of his-, so he will have no choice but to continue to be linked in the long term with this franchise:

I can’t seem to get rid of this, I’m going to have to do these other sequels. I already know what I’m going to do for the next 6 or 7 years. The point is that we’re going to be fine. I’m sure we’ll be talking to high-ranking Disney officials soon regarding the plan for ‘Avatar 3’, which is already underway. We’ve already done the motion capture and photographed the entire movie. And ‘Avatar 4 and 5’ are already written. We even have part of the 4 recorded. We have started a franchise. We have started a saga that can unfold over multiple movies.

Nor are these words surprising if we remember some of the recent statements regarding the saga, especially some of which the producer Jon Landau revealed that part of ‘Avatar 5’ will take place on Earth. It is true that Cameron pointed out at the time that perhaps I was not going to direct ‘Avatar 4’ y ‘Avatar 5’but now everything suggests that it will be the case.

In fact, Cameron already have ideas that would lengthen the saga until ‘Avatar 7’, but in that case it seems that the thing has not happened from there. Besides, I might always retrieve the prequel project which he announced years ago and which was never heard from once more. What is clear is that his destiny has been linked to ‘Avatar’ until 2030.
