Among the 39 food service items, galbitang (10.0%) rose the most, followed by sashimi (8.9%), makgeolli (7.8%), porridge (7.7%), beef (7.5%), gimbap (6.6%), and chicken (6.0%). ), pizza (6.0%), fried rice (5.9%), and seolleongtang (5.7%) showed the highest increase.
In addition, pork ribs (5.6%), jjajangmyeon (5.5%), ramen (5.5%), pork belly (5.3%), naengmyeon (5.3%), hamburger (5.2%), bibimbap (5.0%), and jjambbong (5.0%) , pork cutlet (4.9%), etc. also outperformed the overall increase in food prices. The price of kimchi stew alum and soybean paste stew alum rose 4.2% and 4.0%, respectively.
Of the 39 items, only coffee (-0.02%) avoided inflation. It is analyzed that this is the result of intensifying price competition as the number of coffee franchise stores surged.
The rate of increase in food prices for eating out was only 1.3% last year, but the increase increased in the latter half of March (2.0%), August (3.1%), and November (4.1%). Supply-side factors such as material cost hikes were significant.
The price of livestock and fishery products, which had risen sharply in the first half of last year, slowed down in September (3.1%) and October (0.5%), then rose sharply once more in November (7.6%) and December (7.8%). , imported beef (22.2%) and pork (14.7%) jumped 14.7% from a year ago.
In the case of processed food, the increase rate was 1.2% in January last year, but it rose sharply in the second half of the year, and then rose to 3.8% in December. As of December of last year, the year-on-year inflation rate of major items was salt (30.3%), cooking oil (12.3%), ramen (9.4%), flour (8.8%), milk (6.6), ham and bacon (4.9%). .
In addition, the gradual recovery of daily life began in November of last year and the increase in demand for dining out at the end of December seems to have had an effect on the rise in food service prices. According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, restaurant card sales in November last year increased by 11.7% from a year earlier, and from December 1 to 18, it surged by 47.1%.
