“I am still a child.” Laila Elwi is happy on her 61st birthday

Yesterday, Wednesday, January 4, the artist, Laila Elwi, celebrated her 61st birthday, revealing her wish for the new year.

And the Egyptian artist expressed her happiness at reaching this age, speaking regarding her rituals to celebrate her birthday, through televised statements, saying: “I really do for myself a daily statement of account and not a statement in the year because I have no patience.”

She added, “On New Year’s and on my birthday, I think of the old days, and I think of Mama who used to tell me what and what she did to me, and I took my mother’s flag following her death because she always used to tell me regarding the day of my birth, and I tell my children and friends, and sweet memories will always remain.”

And she continued, “I constantly open the childhood photo album and look at it, yearning for memories, and I feel that I am still a child.”

In response to a question regarding her wish in the new year, she said: “I dream of making a musical film, which remains a breakthrough in this quality of cinema, and I present different roles worthy of me, and people do not expect them from me.”

She also wished well for everyone and that her son and everyone she loved around her would remain in the best condition.

Regarding her latest work, she said that she is currently working on filming a movie called “Sahl Hasheesh,” pointing out that she will not participate in the 2023 Ramadan race because she no longer prefers dramas that consist of 30 episodes.
