It takes time for TV artisans to find their rhythm in a new show, but also for viewers to get used to it. For example, The world upside downhosted by Stéphan Bureau, has found its tone and style without becoming an outright competitor to Everybody talks regarding it as we thought it would happen. However, the two shows have in common that they are broadcast live, which I always find more interesting for this kind of show chairs: you never know who is going to drop one, discomfort is not erased, spontaneity either.
For this reason, I usually let a good three weeks pass before judging a novelty, but in the case of I am coming to you, Marc Labrèche’s new talk show, it won’t be necessary. We can already see the potential of the show, despite its strange two-night-a-week format. Neither daily nor weekly, it’s a quilt of all that Marc Labrèche has managed to create since The end of the world is at 7 o’clockto which I devoted a cult in the late 1990s. Even the weather segment, which was one of my favorites – impossible to forget the performances of Normand L’Amour and Pol Pelletier – is back and God knows what it will give according to the guests.

If there’s one animator who needs time to style a show, it’s Marc Labrèche, who always wants to inject some experimental theater into the genre. We haven’t seen all the collaborators yet, but we quickly understand the chemistry that Labrèche wants to create, which is made up of lightness and absurdity, which is welcome in a spring program, and also because there is a lot of talk-talk talk talk shows that cover the news on our TV. Long before Jean-Philippe Wauthier, Marc Labrèche imposed the atmosphere of rambling interviews and discussions. Sometimes it’s nonsense, and other times it creates an irresistible delirium.
