“I am an NIS employee” Arrested in his 20s for breaking into the Gyeonggi Provincial Council building

A man in his 20s was arrested by the police for breaking into the Gyeonggi Provincial Council building with a weapon as an NIS employee.

The man is accused of entering the building at around 8:00 pm yesterday, pushing an employee asking for an ID card, saying, “I am an NIS employee, there is something to investigate” in the underground parking lot of the Gyeonggi-do Council building.

The man went up to the 11th floor by elevator, was subdued by the police and arrested by the police as a current criminal, and a weapon was found in the pocket of his coat.

During the police investigation, the man was known to have made a gibberish remark, saying, “I am an NIS employee.”

The Gyeonggi Suwon Nambu Police Station confirmed that another police station in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, had also notified the man of designation for assault, and booked him without detention on charges of breaking into a building.
