The Mediterranean region includes many biodiversity hotspots associated with traditional agricultural systems. They form the basis of the Mediterranean diet, known for its health benefits. To explore these questions in more depth, we invite you to join the Science Bar to interact with scientists!
L’industrialisation agricole and thestandardization of diets have had adverse consequences on theenvironment and the health human. This has accentuated the vulnerability of agroecosystems to climate change. The current drought in the Mediterranean raises concerns regarding the future agricultural production capacity in the region.
A transition towards systems agroecological has many positive impacts. Moreover, when associated with the return to a Mediterranean diet original, it promotes positive interactions between agriculture, climate and biodiversity. It also contributes to improving overall health and the sustainable use of energy and water resources.
Speakers
A Science Bar that we co-organize with theOSU Institut Pythéas.
OSU Institut Pythéas
The Observatory of Sciences of the Universe (OSU) Institut Pythéas is a research laboratory. It is under the supervision of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), Aix-Marseille University, the Research Institute for Development (IRD) and the National Research Institute for Agriculture, the Food and the Environment (INRAE). Its missions include leading major research programs, participating in university training and sharing its knowledge with the public.
Tomato Blue
Bleu Tomate has chosen to complete its team of journalists and communicators with scientific mediators. Their role is to make science accessible to as many people as possible.
