▷ ‘Debate regarding hydrogen mobility innovation for carbon neutrality’, seeking future development plans
The Ministry of Environment (Minister Han Jeong-ae) and the Korea Environment Corporation (Chairman Byeong-ok Ahn) will hold the ‘First Hydrogen Mobility Innovation Forum for Carbon Neutrality’ at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul on the followingnoon of March 10.
At this event, various stakeholders including hydrogen economy experts, academia, related organizations, and civic groups will gather to discuss future hydrogen vehicle development plans.
The discussion forum (forum) is co-hosted by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environment Corporation, △Carbon-neutral/hydrogen economy and hydrogen cars, △Hydrogen production-distribution-utilization (value chain) and charging infrastructure (infrastructure), △Hydrogen vehicle trends and responses. It is scheduled to be held four times in total, including directions and future strategies for hydrogen cars.
In this first discussion forum, presentations and discussions by expert committees will be held under the theme of ‘carbon neutrality, hydrogen economy and hydrogen cars (mobility)’.
After presentations on the topics of △diagnosis and evaluation of Korea’s hydrogen economy, △the direction of promoting the hydrogen economy for carbon neutrality, and △the direction of innovation of hydrogen cars, a discussion will take place under the theme of ‘Korea’s hydrogen economy and hydrogen cars’.
In particular, we will diagnose the current status of the hydrogen economy since the establishment of the government’s ‘Hydrogen Economy Revitalization Implementation Plan (Roadmap)’ in 2019, and discuss policy innovation directions in consideration of the rapidly changing market conditions for pollution-free vehicles (electric and hydrogen vehicles). .
The Ministry of Environment plans to prepare a future hydrogen vehicle policy innovation plan in the direction of realizing a carbon-neutral and hydrogen economy by collecting various opinions from experts through this forum.
Kim Beop-jeong, head of the climate and carbon policy department at the Ministry of Environment, said, “Through this discussion, we will seek an innovation strategy for hydrogen vehicles that will lead carbon neutrality to a hydrogen economy.” We will promote the supply of 4.5 million zero-emission vehicles by the year without any setbacks,” he said.
